For how long can ILR holder leave UK

Post by deleted_user » Sat Mar 30, 2013 3:54 pm

Hello,
Can someone please let me know what the conditions of stay are for ILR holders. I do not have family here and rent a 1 bed apartment. The recent slew of family migration rules has put me in a difficult position and made me wonder if I should go and explore opportunities elsewhere (out of UK). I am due for ILR coming september. After I get ILR how long can I leave the UK for before they don't let me come back? Just in case I decide the grass isn't greener on the other side.

Thanks.

When you get your ILR,you cannot be outside UK for more than 2 years. So you need to return to the UK,from the place where ever the Grass is Greener.

And what happens if I come to UK being away more than 2 years? I will be easily able to board the plane, as the air company does not know about my absenses.

As I guess, when trying to pass border officer, he will replace ILR with something like ILE. Am I right? Will the person be let into the country? How about to leave the country? For how long?
