English Language Requirement

Post by seekit » Thu Apr 04, 2013 9:37 am

Hi, My spouse has a B.Sc degree that was taught in english. I found this on UKBA website about degree taught in english:
If you have an academic qualification which is deemed by UK NARIC to meet the recognised standard of a Bachelor's degree
How can we check if her degree is recognised by UK NARIC? Do we need to apply to UK NARIC to get equivalence certificate? If yes how long does that take?

Just to mention she is from Pakistan and got degree from there as well.

Thanks

Can anyone please help? Moderators? No one ever tried this before? Is there any UK NARIC database that we can check if her degree is recognised by UK NARIC and does she needs any letter from her university to say medium was english?

Thank you.

Yes, you need to apply to UK Naric and pay the fee :

Which option did you select in PBS Points system? I have used it to test the bachelor degree of my wife and this system awarded 0 points for that. she has done BA simple from Punjab. can any body point out the way of using accurately that PBS system plz?

Thank you for reponding.. do we need English Language Assessment or Statement of Comparability to say degree is equivalant to UK bachelors or both??

a bit confused, this is what UKBA's website say:
If you have an academic qualification which is deemed by UK NARIC to meet the recognised standard of a Bachelor's degree, we will accept this as evidence that you can speak and understand English to level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. Therefore you do not need to take a test.
So looks like we'll need statement of comparability as well??

Thank you for taking time and answering.
