Hi All.
Greetings. I am in UK on a Tier-2 General and am evaluating a change of employer. Having read through multiple posts in this forum and else where, I have understood the process but wanted to put down the workflow for confirmation and also post a couple of related questions
1. Is it better to go through an attorney for booking Personal Appointment (premium service)
2. I need to determine my Start Date of new employment. But it is really difficult to predict given the unknown timelines of completing an application. Is there any known way of tackling this problem
3. (request Confirmation)
Process WorkFlow
1. Apply for a Job and Get Offer for emploment and sponsorship
2. Employer to provide unrestricted CoS with a start Date as the first date of employment (Start Date = Notice Period + 1(min))
3. Individual to apply for Tier-2 Extension with new CoS
4. Give Notice Period to current employer
5. On successful application, old visa is cancelled and individual can start new job

First of all make sure that the new sponsor has an available CoS allocation for 2013/14 that they can use for you. Then ask the new sposnor to assign the CoS and put the work start date, say, 2 months from the date of assignment. As soon as you have the CoS prepare the application and make a premium service appointment either directly or through a solicitor. This should be possible within one month. If you are successful with the application you will be told on the day but it is advisable to wait until you have the approval letter from UKBA and the BRP before giving notice in your current job,

5 . On successful application, old visa is cancelled and individual can start new job but you can continue in the old job until the work start date in the new job
