Expired indian passport not submitted

Expired indian passport not submitted

HI

My mom in law got her french citizenship while residing in India in 1991.
Her indian passport expired in 1984. She did not surrender her EXPIRED indian passport.

She now wants to apply for her OCI.

She is confused if she should surrender her EXPIRED indian passport now?

I think you need to submit Original Indian Passport (Last/Valid Indian passport at the time of Naturalization). When she actually took the citizenship...what was her status in India between 1984 - 1991

Please search terms deemed surrender or deemed expired.

As the timelines goes her Indian passport would have formally expired long time ago. There are a few threads in this regards in this forums. Please search.

A affidavit from notary public in this regards may suffice HCI/CGI. There are some details on their websites.
