ILR on 10 years long residence or T1 General - Confused

Post by Perdesi007 » Mon Apr 29, 2013 10:59 am

hello everyone,

I need your help in apply for ILR. I entered in the UK on 11.02.2004 as a student, completed my study in 2008, Applied for T1 General in April 2010 (Got 3 years visa), I have got my 2nd Extension of T1 approved successfully on 18.04.2013.

My Question is: Do I Qualify for ILR on 11.02.2014 (On bases of 10 years long residence ) ?

If Yes then will I have to prove the same earnings as T1 or not?

Second Question is: Will my partner who at the moment is in Pakistan have to take English language test to prove the language ability?

Thanking you all in advance

As far i have read the rules there is no such requirment to show your salary. I am on tier 1 as well and I will be applying for ILR on basis of 10 years early next year.
One of my friend's wife took ILETS exam from Pakistan when applying as dependent.

I was on Tier 1 General (3 years). I was to complete 10 years long residence exactly 3 days after Tier 1 General expiry date. I had a bad last year so could not fulfil income criteria for extension so I applied on the basis of 10 years long residence submitting only my passports, Life in the UK test and last three months bank statements. After waiting for nearly 9 months I got my ILR. If you have required salary to show then I think its best to apply for ILR based on Tier 1 General. If not then go for ILR based on 10 years long residence.
