I assume you are a British citizen otherwise than by descent and were so when the child was born and thus your child is British by descent and you can apply for his/her British Passport now.villette wrote:Hi, I need desperately some advice, I'm british citizen and my husband is british, I had my daughter on broad, in Brazil, now she's 14 months old and we are in England, my daughter has brazilian passport and she came back to england with 6 months old with tourist visa, her visa already expired, Now we don't know what to do! Somebody Help us? Please!
And I assume your daughter is a dual American citizen.ILR_Applicant_UK wrote:My wife and I became naturalised British citizens back in 2011. Our daughter was born in the USA last year. We directly applied for her British passport through the IPS office in Washington. We had to send our original naturalisation certificates along with the passport application.
You should be able to do the same in the UK i.e. apply for her British passport
