Got ILR@Croydon 1/5/13 with all sorts of problems n offences

Post by cruzez » Wed May 01, 2013 7:23 pm

I posted this few weeks back
http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... 826#808826

I didn't explain all the problems in the post felt so embarrassed even to post them in detail. Yet I received ILR without any problems. Didnt goto Lawyer or experienced friends didn't do anything to resolve problems, i became so careless towards the end i simply didn't care or take it serious do research or be prepared.

Case worker gave me news that I received ILR she personally gave documents to me and said wanted to see you. It should have been most joyful day of my life but I do not feel any happiness only gave me more pain and despair due to personal reasons and having lost one i loved. Marriage ended only on this reason :(

I will write more details tomorrow about application form and documents.

Note: It's not all true that everyone is getting ILR, I met two guys at PEO who had ILR declined, reasons not very clear one from Tier 1 G route and other girl dont know what route she came from was declined I met them outside PEO, it seems people either dont post for decline or dont know about this forum. I educated them about this forum and gave url I hope they will post their failures and get much needed help from here

Mate, probably you are the only one in this whole forum expressed not being happy getting ILR.

Reading link you provided, I must congratulate you and don't worry what happened in the past, you have been given new life, your ex wife didn't deserve you, I know it takes considerable amount of dedication and hard work for Work permit holders to get their ILR. You seriously succeeded it.

I love to hear about your detailed post and reason why cases worker wanted to see you.

I request Admin of this forum put this thread as sticky note, many will be benefited from his experience.

Obviously people get declined but it does not mean that they are declining legit applicants.
May be the applicants applied before 5 years or may be they did not fulfill all the criteria. There can be so many reasons mate!

I am posting my experience now:

As I mentioned earlier, towards the end of my appointment i simply became careless and didn't bother outcome of application. I decided if get I stay or go else where. Many of my friends suggested not to apply will waste huge money in fee or go with solicitor atleast. I ignored all that. Few things from this forum did help me preparing my application

I started preparing for documents from 22nd April 2013 onwards just 8 days before Appointment.
Documents collected
1. HMRC Employment history
2. HMRC SA302 form (if u have any self employments)
3. Letters from all previous employers confirming start-end dates of employments holiday entitlements and also confirming dates I went outside UK that they were paid holidays informed going outside India.
4. HSBC 12 months bank statements
5. Payslips for 12 months

I went to WH Smith bought few file clips envelops [http://www.whsmith.co.uk/Products/Rexel ... g+31312042] which made all my documents well organized.
I categorized documents into following categories and for each of the folders I wrote cover letter[hand writing didn't have time to type and take printouts]

1. [cover letter] Bank statements 12 months and savings plus cover letter for bank statement and request to consider finance going £800 overdraft for a day during 3 months period Here I compassionate grounds reasons I mentioned about my divorce, attached divorce papers and £2000 PAID to ex wife as goodwill to her future. [she later declined and gave back to my parents but that's a different story]

2. Payslips and letter from employer confirming total amounts of 12 months period [plus cover letter ]

3. [Cover letter highlighting 5 yrs of employment] HMRC employment history, SA302 form for self employment done for year 2010/11, few extra documents attached like odd p60s not all, and few odd payslips

4.[Cover letter about Convictions] Court letter and fine for 6 months disqualification, £65 fine SENTENCED sep-2009. Plus just personal letters for other convictions
Speeding at 98m/hr fined £400 plus 4 points date of conviction convicted feb-2008
Driving without insurance, without valid license £300 fine plus 6 points convicted dec-2008
Driving license both counter part and photo ID that has my old residence address and conviction TT99 that all. Previous convictions not recorded DVLA said they not valid anymore. I explained all this in cover letter

5.[Cover letter about absences] I took printouts of all e-tickets and for each e-ticket attached employer letter, where i didnt have employer letter just wrote personal letter
I didn't count or did mention how many days I was absent outside UK. I counted them now came up 165 days excluding departure and arrival days
I had few paid holidays, few weekend trips and holidays during UN-employment mentioned all that

6. [Lost Passports] I attached photo copies, wrote cover letter how i lost them, photo copy of police complaints and few email conversations with Home office and indian embassy during that time

7. Academic documents and cover letter related to it.

7. Life in UK [explained last and first name printed wrong way].

I only started filling application form about 4 am and that was the 1st time I seen SET(O) form, had lots of doubts, where I had doubts attached sticky notes, and requested Case worker fill or tick appropriately.

Went to Croydon at 1:00 am appointment was at 1:20,
1. Got token down stairs NO deposit made
2. Went 3rd floor paid full £1426
3. Few minutes later called my number she looked at my application said all fine and asked me to put all docs in one big folder asked me
"are you applying with dependents? Said no
"Single or married" I said Divorced.
Put all docs in one big folder and said things have changed since you visited last time, you do not get to see case worker anymore its all will be done in back office.
4. Few minutes later called for Biometric got done and she took all my documents and said u can either stay or come back, I said will come back she said come back before 4 pm. I said OK.

5. Went out ate something drunk something got back at 3:50,
On the monitor display I noticed my number disappearing from Under consideration and thought will come on ready for collection, but for some reason it was disappeared from the screen for 15 minutes. I simply put headphones on and took a nap.

6. At 4:35 some one came to waiting area asking my name, I said its me, she said I had been calling your number and u went sleep, come with me to the counter. while walking with her to counter she said "I have approved your application and wanted to see you and Happy Birthday" I said OK thanks, she handed in and said you are good looking guy good job, forget the past and start new life good luck.

I guess she said that may be because of nature of personal letters I wrote and travel 10 times to India from May-2012 to March-2013 all were related ex wife and I wrote all genuine reasons.
Thats it. Yesterday it was my birthday too just turned 30 :)

Thanks, I guess despite all the problems my case seem to be straight forward and clean and good employment history

Any information required I will be happy to answer :)

I think my case will give relief to all candidates who had troubles with Police, but all convictions were like 3 years back.

I wish I had her number she was good looking as-well around 27 yrs old :) She knows me inside out including finances employment where I live etc... Quite exciting jobs for them I guess :)

I'm really happy for you cruzez :) I was kind of emotional to read your post. Well done mate and good luck with your future :)

I think everyone on this forum (especially one who is on T1 visa) has a sad story like yours and with changing rules things are getting worse. Not sure how many people on this forum have suffered from anxiety/depression etc etc because of these uncertainities. I'm hoping to get my ILR next year (hope they don't introduce any new rules  ).

Cheers,
Gem

wow this is very detailed information. Congratulations dude. New chapter new life get married to that HO girl :)

I think people going to Croydon should be aware "You don't get to see case worker".. What if you missed any letter or they need clarification?
You only collect documents at the end with a letter stating approved or declined :( I wouldn't go here.

I had my friend went for Tier-1 extension yesterday he said gave all documents at bio-metric and when number called after few hours he went and collected it, they didn't even said approved or declined. When he asked guy at the counter told him he doesn't know everything is in the folder and result is in HO letter. He was lucky to see letter that it was approved.

Well Croydon had been lucky for me. My tier 1 extension was a trouble I got 0 points for maintenance it counted only 89 days didn't realize I had feb month to count, yet despite that Caseworker was nice to me said refusing visa but i have decided to send it to refusal team you have very good chances send your one more day bank statements to refusal team they will definately approve ur visa and you have max 48 hrs to send required bank statements. I went straight to bank took statements n posted straight away within 2 days got my Visa.. I don't think if I had gone other PEO i would have given another chance.
