Change of employer - Notice period

Post by psnlb » Fri May 10, 2013 11:45 am

Hi guys,

I currently hold a Tier 2 visa and looking to change employers. My current employer requires me to give him 4 weeks notice.

I have a premium appointment on May 28 and the way I see it I should put July 1st as a start date on the CoS with new employer.
Am I right in thinking that even when I get my new visa on May 28, I am still able of working for my old employer until July 1st? Would it be an issue if UKBA destroy my old BRP?

Thanks all!

Hey,

I think so. My current job requires 1 month notice. I am also going for appointment on 18 of June. I contacted the new employer HR department. They said that they will put the COS job start date as 18 of July. Then I can tell my current employer on 18 of June. Please listen to other experienced members suggestions as well.

Good luck.

I am also in similar situation, the only difference being that my notice period is 12 weeks. My new employer is fine with issuing a COS with start date after
12 weeks, but not sure if UKBA will accept this?
Experts please help..

Thanks manci.

Just one more question pls. Will my current employer be notified by UKBA that I have a new visa with a new employer? Thanks
