Employing an Indian National on HSMP

Post by Mark Burke » Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:39 pm

Hi,
I put this in the HSMP section but thought I should put it here as well:

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I cam conisdering employing a Indian National who is on a HSMP. The nature of our business means that their is some times need to visit/respond to clients abroad all over the world. Now we can get visa's for our british employees to make business trips and I was wondering what problems I would encounter if I employeed someone on HSMP?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Mark;
I'm a Colombian national on HSMP.
Colombian citizens need visas to 96% of all countries worldwide.....I have applied for 27 visas in the past 5 years; HSMP per-se hasn't been an issue with any foreign country...the only issue would be how much time is left on the HSMP-EC-Visa.
If your employee needs to go to france in May and his HSMP expires in April...forget it, he would have to apply once his HSMP has been extended.
that's my personal experience; please note that UK citizens need visas to far less countries and remember that each time you apply for a visa you would need an invitation letter from your customer.
