Assist Pls : Can new born apply for Extension

Post by kyborg99 » Thu May 16, 2013 4:22 pm

My wife and I are due for extension, and we have a new born baby as well:

- Will I have to apply for my wife and I first and get us extended and then apply for the new born as a separate application and pay 1545?

OR

- Can I club the new born in as a dependant - keeping in mind that this will be his first visa - can I still apply for his extension with us please?

Assist Please.

thanks tahir naveed

so new born can apply for extension without any existing visa issued - great, the fee is around £400 cheaper

but will the newborn get visa till my current expiry date or till my new extended dat. I mean lets say my visa is till June 2013 - so will new born get visa till only June 2013 or UKBA will extend me first i.e. June 2015 and then give newborn visa till June 2015 as well please?

you don't need a visa for new born if he/she is not travelling outside UK.

Your dependent's will have the same date of expiry of visa as the main applicant's.

we do need to travel

Your dependent's will have the same date of expiry of visa as the main applicant's
- ok, however if I apply for newborn (who had never a UK visa stamped) as dependant with my extension application combined - will he get visa till my current expert i.e. June 13 or the new extension I am applying for i.e. June 2015?

Yes, newborns born in the UK do not need a visa to live in the UK, unless they are going to travel outside the UK, and re-enter.

If you want to apply a dependent visa for your newborn, it will have the same validity as your existing visa, it will expire when yours expires. So it may be better to apply after you have first extended your visa, so that you dont have to pay for the baby twice.

thanks Ram, but as tanveer mentioned I can DO combine him as a dependant in my extension application and pay 1160 instead of 1545 if applying separately.
OR if I go down this route UKBA will give the newborn a visa till my current extension and only extend me? and then I will have to extend newborns visa again?

Yes combining newborn's renewal with yours might work I think. Anyways first they will renew the main applicant and only then the dependent's visa, even if you apply together.

Payment Method - credit card

One of the dependants is a newborn here in the UK - who obv had never had an existing visa to extend however it was my understanding that a newborn can get a visa when applying with the main applicant.

So the concern is that they have deducted 3 Visa fees - NOT 4.

Total of 1545 + 1159 + 1159 ... is there a gap normally in deducting fees - has anyone experienced such a gap before?

My concern is that they will return my Newborn application and will ask to resubmit with a fee of 1545 as a separate application.

Any thoughts please?

any one, please advice if its normal for 3 out of 4 fees to be deducted and not 1 - and there is no way to find which one didn't get deducted - right?
