So i need visa and family permit also?Help on hand wrote:as you being non eea national, u need to obtain visa to travel
Tnx. So could u tell me which documents n paper I need for eea family permit?Obie wrote:EEA family permit is a form of visa. That on its own should be sufficient for you to travel to UK.
I don't agree, the family permit is not compulsory as stated in this letter from the immigration minister DAMIEN GREEN:Help on hand wrote:you need EEA family permit before coming to UK, You have to apply at:-
Wow, tnx for this, but still didnt find aproppriate answer in there. I mean, if we I go with my wife to uk, and on the border, checkpoints airport, we show them our passports, my non eea passport n hers eea pasport, n our marrage certif, what will they do or give us, if I dont have a eea family permit or visa. Will thez return me back, cuz Im afraid of that, travel all way without eea family to be sent back, lol. I heard on that topic u gave me, that some couple, an eea with non eea, passed with passp n marrage certif, n when they get to uk, the applied for residence card. Is that possible? P.s. What u think, will I tell to my wife to ask in airport can I come with her next time when she want to get back to work, only with passports and marrage certif. I think thats the best idea, cuz she will come back to me in 7 days by plain. What u think? She works in uk 2 months, 1 month she is at home.ukforever wrote:I don't agree, the family permit is not compulsory as stated in this letter from the immigration minister DAMIEN GREEN:Help on hand wrote:you need EEA family permit before coming to UK, You have to apply at:-

read the last link i sent in my message,it will answer all your questions ,it will even tell u about how to operate once u are at port/airport ,and just to let u know, under eu laws, they can't send u back, just follow the instructions and u will be just fine..
if u can board a plane then yes u can just show up with just passports and marriage certificate..and don't forget to print out all u need from the 1st and last link i sent u in my previous message..or just drive/travel to calais and seek admission.

when u arrive at port show them the print out of the above links and seek admission.
So i cant travel with my wife without family permit, Im not in Bosnia now. And I heard that family permit is 6 months the same like that A1 stamp, so why would i bother to get whole documents for i will need weeks n weeks to get an eea fp, n i will also have to go too Bosnia.. if I can go right now with my wife only with passport n marrage cert.? TnxJambo wrote:It would help if you ask the questions in one place and not post in multiple thread on the same topic.
If you from Bosnia, you are a visa national. So this is not relevant to you. Get a EEA Family Permit and take a flight or take a bus and enter by land.
I think i ll choose by land, i do live in Bosnia, but im in my wifes home, i stay here 3 months, cuz thats the limit for non eea countries. The thing is, my wife wants to quit here job, n search for different 1 in the uk. And for eea family permit, u need job documents of ur eea partner. So god knows how much time we need to get that eea fam permit n before she find diff job. So yes, i think we will apply in the uk for that resident card, that last 5 year. Or I have to apply for it in Bosnia, uk embassy there. Do i need to apply for eea fp before applying for eea residend card? Tnx for timeJambo wrote:You only said you are from Bosnia. You didn't say where you live now.
You can apply for EEA Family Permit from any British post in the world. It doesn't need to be from your home country. You normally get it in less than 15 days.
If you plan to fly, you will need EEA Family Permit as the airline will not allow you to board without it. If you plan to travel by land via Calais, you will probably be able to seek entry at the port without EEA Family Permit (as there are UK immigration officers in Calais). The choice is yours.
If your wife has been living in the UK for more than 3 months and has worked there, you can use those documents when applying for EEA Family Permit. If she hasn't been in the UK for 3 months, then you don't need to show evidence of her employment when applying for EEA Family Permit.slowmotion85 wrote:I think i ll choose by land, i do live in Bosnia, but im in my wifes home, i stay here 3 months, cuz thats the limit for non eea countries. Tnx Jambo, good to know. Will try to get that A1 stamp, n apply for residence card when i get to uk, with my wife. I think thats the best solution. And no, she doesnt live n work 3 months, she works n lives maximum 2 months.. but she pays her flat rent every month there in uk. cuz she have flant contract.Jambo wrote:If your wife has been living in the UK for more than 3 months and has worked there, you can use those documents when applying for EEA Family Permit. 5 years Residence Card can only be applied inside the UK. You are not required to have EEA Family Permit before applying for Residence Card.
Could u please, send me the list of documents with those u applied, the ukba pdf file is extreme. So many documents and could u send me an example how did u finish that eea2 form. U used eea2, right? Cuz i download it, and i cant answer on so many questions...Aine002 wrote:Me and my husband we applied for EEA FP i Poland. First time was refused coz i didn't show them any proof of me being qualified person. Second time i submitted some of my previous payslips and job contract and we got EEA FP in 4 days! We applied in Warsaw, first online and them submitted documents in person. It's not that difficult, plus we wasn't working form last 3 month's and we didn't have much money on the account.
In my opinion, it would be easier for you to obtain EEA FP instead of trying to cross border without it.
Wow, thank u very much girl. U helped me 50 percent now. Im from Bosnia, so i ll have to go to bosnia, to uk embassy there. So, i ll do like u did, will download that form vef5, n printed, then write answers which i can answer with my polish wife. So, the questions that i might not no, will leave them empty or write..not req. For eea fp. I see u provided 9 docume. Will do the same like u. Amm, will make apointment n get back to my country, alone, to uk embassy there. Could u live me ur e mail if i had some more questions so i can contact u, or i ll just post the quest. Here. P.s. how u doing now there with ur husband, n when u arrived to uk, when did u apply for residence card 5 year? P.s.2 do u by any chance have ur vef5 copy when u finished it, so i can see how did u write the answers n everything. Or if u know do i have somewhere here on the net an N.N. EXAMPLE OF IT, random one. It would help a lot, tnx lovely girlAine002 wrote:Hi there!
First of all, to apply for EEA Family Permit you are not using EEA2 for but VAF5 and,if u will apply from Poland, you are applying online. You submit form online, than print it, and than you are making appointment to go to embassy and submit all the documents.
I submit many documents because our first application was refused. When i fill online form, in each and every question about my job and financial situation like income, bank account etc i wrote: Not required for EEA Family Permit. Then, i wrote letter where i declare that i will be traveling with my husband to UK and i explained, why in some parts of the application i put: Not required for EEA FP. Here is that letter:
Dear Sir/Madam!
My name is XXX and I am Polish national, citizen of a Member State. I am married to XXX citizen of India. I hereby declare that I will be traveling to UK with my husband. Please issue him an EEA Family Permit as soon as possible. I do understand that this must be issued on priority basis. Find enclosed our passports and marriage certificate.
In accordance with Directive 2004/38/EC there is no legal requirements that when applying for visa to any Member State we need to submit: pay slips, letter from previous and future employer, bank statements, letters of reference, proof that we will return at the end of the trip. Besides on the UKBA official website in the paragraph: supporting documents for EEA Family Permit is stated that when applying we need to include all the documents that we can show that my husband is family member of me – EEA national which in our case is marriage certificate, copy of our passports and letter from me that I am going to travel together with my him.
More over in the same website in guidance for supporting documents is written that we do not have to submit all the documents which are mention there. It is up to us what we will choose. I am EEA National and we are under EU law that is why we did not provided any other documentation than the one we submitted with our application.
In accordance to all above, in our application form, in each question where we should stated anything about our current circumstances (employment, taxes, income etc.) we wrote: not required for EEA Family permit. Yet i will attache proof of me being qualified person which is few pay slips, previous job contract and my CV. We did not provide any other documents because as for me, EU citizen it is clearly violation of my and my family member rights.
Finally I again kindly request you to grant my husband with EEA Family Permit. In case of your refusal, please provide us with names of the persons handling our case because in this case I will appeal and formally complain to European Commission and Solvit to seek compensation. A refusal of this will interfere with my and my family members free movements rights. Thank you for your time and professional attention to this application.
Than i submitted this documents:
- Printed VEF5
- Copy of our passports
- Copy of our marriage certificate form Cyprus in English and from Poland in English
- Letter which is above
- My CV
- Few of my pay slips from Cyprus, but really just 3 and there were from 2011 coz i didn't have any other one
- Job contract from Cyprus in Greek (i couldn't be bothered to translate it)
- Few of my pay sleeps form seasonal job i did i summer 2012 in Holland in Dutch languge
- Some of our photos
That's it. Printouts from UKBA website i had with me on the airport when we were trying to go without visa. I didn't gave any of them to embassy.
No i dont have residence card from poland, i stay here 3 months, go to bosnia for 2 weeks n again return to poland for 3 months. Maybe will get it that resid card here poland, n go with my wife to uk embassy here in poland. Maybe its better to do that, easier then for me to go to bosnia n to uk embassy there. What u think, cuz ang0yway, for eea family permit, they dont need any document of me except, passport, all documents a0which they need r from my wife,Aine002 wrote:No problem, I also needed lots of help when I was doing my application. We enjoy uk a lot. One month took us to get NIN Ana get job. Next month we will apply for his eea2. It's all gonna be done by post. Easy and strait forward. .
don't agree ainee, some people from other forums says clearly that a family permit can be submitted from any uk embassy in the world,no matter where u are,u don't need to have residency there to apply for it...a mailing address would be ok.Aine002 wrote:No problem, I also needed lots of help when I was doing my application.
