some friends i know bought property in spain,i'm not sure how much,but my guess would be from 50.000 euro+,and they are non eu citizen,what they got is just a residence card,not more...not sure if its the 5 year residence card but i'm not sure it is possible to get citizenship just by buying a property or investing money,never crossed a document or an information on this topic.

This was grapevine law - it hasn't received approval, it was suggested that investing £160k in Spanish real estate would aid their slumping property market. I do not believe it was successful upon discussion.

However, I believe that in Portugal, investing half a million Euros would allow access to the hyped Golden Residence Program and following six years residency naturalisation. Also look up the 250k Euro government bond investment scheme in Hungary for an 8 year naturalisation scheme.
