Confusion regarding experience

Hello all,
I have a problem regardin my HSMP file. I am about to file a new HSMP application. I have done my studies frm the UK. The problem I am having is that I have got 10 months of experience in UK working for a software firm. But that is the only experience I have got. So in that case is it a compulsion that alteast 12 months of experience is required to apply for HSMP?
Also if thats the case then can i adjust my experience as 4 months in India between my BE and masters and then 10 months of recent experience in UK?
