5 days unpaid leave for my marriage

Post by prabsays » Wed May 29, 2013 9:26 pm

Hi all,

I have got appt for my ILR (Solihull PEO) next week. My visa status for the past five years is Tier1 General (3 +2). During that
period I took 5 days unpaid leave for my marriage, but the leave was authorised by the employer. And I have also got my Marriage certificate, and invitation to prove. My employer have provied me with a letter saying I am a permanent employee for past five years . I am just wondering whether the unpaid leave I took will affect my ILR application. Guys please tell me what do you think.

Thanks

5 days unpaid leave will not affect your ILR. Just in case write a personal note as to why you took that lelave. If asked you could give that. But in your Immigration history mention that 5 days were for your marriage. This is what I did when I went to Solihull. My leave for 5 days was for a funeral. CW just read and was satisfied.

Trust your total absences over 5 years is not excessive. Mine was 50 days.

Thanks Kevin. The documents I am thinking of submitting are

12 months payslips and bank statement for earnings proof
Current employer letter stating my gross salary and breakdown of my salary for each month ( from june 2012 - may 2013)
Letter from previous employer about my employment(from march 2007 till may 2012).
List of all holidays for past 5 years from employer(including paid and unpaid leave)
Life in the uk pass notification letter
Tier 1 extension approval letter
Tier 1 points calculator statement from ukba website
And a covering letter with details regarding my absence from UK
Marriage certificate and invitation for my unpaid leave
Appointment letter

I have also got 5 years p60 , bank statements and payslips if the cw asks for.

I hope the above documents are sufficient for my ILR application

But
1.Why Employer's letter with salary break up?
2.Why cover letter detailing absences?
3. Hope your Salary is more than the sary when your Tier 1 extension was give.

Thanks Longshift!! Yes my wife is going to apply for her Tier 1 General dependent visa extension, as she doesn't fulfill the 2 years rule.

I read the link. Some CWs are insisting that the salary at present should be higher than the salry you got when at the time of Tier 1 granted. You could argue this out with the CW.I haven't experinced Myself. You could check with some one about this.

Tier General. If you salary is low then don't go to give P60s to CW.If your other documents are very good normally they don't bother.
