Hi,
I was hoping someone could help with a query that I have in regards to my boyfriend's ancestry visa
He originally came to the UK 10 years a ago on an ancestry visa. He messed up by not extending his visa before it expires and consequentially stayed in the UK and became illegal for a further four years.
I met him and because of his status we chose to leave the UK and move back to his home, which we did early last year.
A family member of mine passed away so I came back in November to attend the funeral and unfortunately suffered a major stroke.
My partner was surprisingly allowed back into the UK to be with me whilst I was recovering and was given a 6month tourist visa on compassionate grounds
He is going to go back home shortly and we are planning on reapplying for another ancestry visa for him.
I guess what I wanted advice on is what are the chances that he may still be refused another ancestry visa based on overstaying last time or whether because he was given a tourist visa he may have a chance of being accepted for one since he will have followed the rules this time and because I am still recovering and unable to work?
Any advice or previous experiences would be great.
Thank you!
Stephanie.
