Living at her parent's

Post by 51 » Sat Jun 01, 2013 9:37 am

I have so many questions, but this is one of my main concerns. My wife will be attending uni for the next 3+ years. During that time, at least at the start, I'd be staying at her parent's house. Is that allowed?

Also, is there a set amount of money I'd need to have in my bank account to be able to legally stay there? (I read the FAQ about needing 6-12 months of money, but how much would they be in dollars? Is there somewhat of an estimated amount?)

Thanks!!

That link will be VERY helpful to me. In case someone else is having some of my similar questions, that's a great link for US citizens marrying someone from the UK!

Unfortuntely, it's more difficult now.

Thanks for the link, Vinny, but I have no idea what I'm looking at :(

If I give you my scenario, would you be able to guide me on the proper path?

Thanks for your help (and anybody else who may post here!)

"You must intend to live together permanently with your future spouse once you are married."

If she's going to uni, but I'm still living at her house (with her parents), will that still qualify as living together? I can't exactly live in her dorm with her :?
