Internship on student visa

How's the sound of taking up a paid internship which requires 9-5 work for 3 months after the end of your study (on student visa as there are still a few months left before it expires)? Would that be legal or illegal?

ps. the school has nothing to do with the internship or whatsoever.

Hmm not sure.

My gf is at uni here in UK, doing German language and she is required to do a placement (internship - US word I think!) in Germany working full time, and this is allowed cos it's an essential part of her course.

Doesn't sound like ur example fits that criteria.

well the german system is very different from the UK one. I wouldn't make comparison between the two.

You misunderstand. She's here on a UK student visa, doing a UK degree course in the UK part of which requires one year living and working as, in her case, a German national, noting whatsoever to do with 'the german system'.

So she is working full time whilst effectively on a UK student visa.

The crux is it's a requirement for her degree course, sounds like ur example is obviously not part of the degree (or whatever) course, merely a misuse of the three months grace period the Gov grants on student visa.
