Spousal Visa Application - Pakistan (Timeline Only)

My wife applied from Pakistan with following dates, i wonder why is so quick if it is taking that long for everyone, scares me a bit.

Location: Lahore
Application Forwarded to Islamabad O/C: 30-May-2013
Application Ready for Collection: 06-June-2013
The Result: don't know yet???.

does someone know why it could be quicker than all normal applications, meaning any possible refusal etc

hope you get a positive response... can you tell us which application form was submitted and which financial requirements catagory met?

Thanks for your good wish, The forms were filled online so it's actually you select the category in which you are applying, basically it’s a kind of wizard –cum- form. Regarding your question about financial requirement, there was not a specific requirement because it was a Tier 1 Dependent not Settlement/Spouse application. But I still provided proofs of my earning which is a little above 25K.

Spouse Settlement means you are applying for as a husband/wife/civil parter etc of a person who is either British Citizen or has ILR.
Whereas Teir 1 Dependent means you are applying as a dependent of a Tier 1 visa holder.

i submitted my application in Lhr on 26th April 2013 and its 30th of May 2013, since 26th April , the status of my file is still " forwarded to Islamabad OC on 26th April " i tried calling Gerry's call center but they got no relevant info trust me, anybody who knows about the status thing that if its a mistake or should i be worried about my case ( that somethings God4bid wrong with documents ? )

Applied on 07/03/2013 and the application has been under process since 20/03/2013 and still not heard anything.

Gerry's are not able to provide any updates but the UKBA website does say if it takes longer then 3months then email gerrys and they should forward the email to UKBA for a reply (this will only happen after 3 months). I have emailed them just waiting for a reply now.

Thanks brother I replied to your email. I've got another question if anyone can answer.. We submitted an online application for my wife and at the start of that application it said that we need to download and fill Sponsorship Form SU07/12. Is it required for spouse visa? I thought it was only for other dependent relatives? Did you people submitted that form along with your application in pakistan?

Hi I need to apply for my Wife's Spouse Visa from Islamabad.
She has done Masters (MSc) and I have heard if any one has done a Degree (taught in English) they don't need to take the English language test ie IELTS. Is that true ?
Would the Degree will be sufficient or should I submit the Qualification Comparability letter from UK NARIC as well ?

I did not submit it as it's only for those applying for dependency. The template I sent you stands as your declaration for sponsorship.

At the moment it seems the BHC are taking upto the full 12 weeks- and in some cases a little longer.

In your case RFC should be July 1st.

Ok. That was helpful. Now do I need to get that declaration done by a solicitor or can i write on my own and sign it? What would you suggest from experience?

No thanks required. Anything I can do to help, I shall do.

I've read many people applied without a solicitors declaration, but I don't know if they were success or not. I decided to go for the solicitor declaration as he verified and stamped my documents with his firms name. For me, I felt that it would give the case worker peace of mind. I read of cases where the caseworker refused the visa and the applicants were successful on appeal. This makes you think about how caseworkers can use a level of discretion that can leave many people in a vulnerable position. I didn't want to take the risk. Many would say I didn't need such a declaration but I can only say what worked for me.
