VISA : "Join Spouse B/O" vs "Spouse of Irish

Post by nanette » Fri Jun 07, 2013 6:06 pm

Hello,

I am an Irish Citizen.

My spouse is non-EU and the visa-D issued says "Join Spouse B/O"

But in the visa decision PDF at INIS website, I can see other approved with "Spouse of Irish Citizen B/O"

What is the difference ?

And by the way, what does "B/O" stands for

Thanks,
Nana

Hi
do not pay attention what b/o means, the main thing is that visa is issued and nothing you have to worry.

Hi Nanette ,

does it mention the Word "Only" after the B/O ??? if yes it means Bearer only (the Holder of that Visa Only ) , it is a standard thing they do when issuing a visa . that is to avoid bringing in children with the bearer of that passport as sometimes children are included in their parents passports .

hope that clarifies the issue for u .

Can i ask you a question, how long is your D visa valid for ?
3 months or longer ? in the past we have been given 90 days Class-D other times 2 years Class C
with this odd explanation
Long term class D visas can only be issued for short validity 3 months
Short term class C visas can be issued for long validity, e.g. 2 years

Thanks - The visa -D is valid 3 months so that the spouse can come to Ireland.
