PBS dependent Child- Born here

Post by sheela85 » Thu Jun 20, 2013 2:08 pm

Hello,

Our child was born here and currently in Uk, my husband will be applying for ILR soon me and child are travelling abroad soon. It seems I can travel back on pbs dependent visa and I intend to apply for ILR using the SET(O) form when back, just wondering, can I register my child as citizen who was born here rather than applying through SET 0 form for my child as well.

please advice.

Yes, as soon as your husband or you are settled (granted ILR) your child is entitled to register as a British Citizen by virtue of section 1(3) of the British Nationality Act. Once your child has his/her certificate you can apply for his/her British Passport to travel with.
