financial evidence for self employed sponsoring wife?

Hi all,

I am a British born self employed being and will soon start the paperwork etc process for my wife.

Regarding the question how many months of bank statements do I need to provide if I am self employed?

Will 6 months be enough as for the first 6 months I did not have any income as it took me a long time to establish my business, stock, market research that I undertook but after once I started it picked up really well and currently my accounts stand at £21,653 total gross income so in question can I provide the last 6 months account at minimum?
