Does your 'partner' claim disability benefits or carers allowance?Vlad83 wrote:Hi! Can I get visa to UK if married my partner wich lives on benefits?
Thank you.
If your partner is claiming Disability Living Allowance (PIP now) then you will be exempt from the new financial requirements. If so, you will only have to show adequate maintenance and accommodation. Do you and or your partner have savings? If so, how much?Vlad83 wrote:Guru, my partner claim disability benefits
Providing the provider of social housing allow you to stay and you have this in writing there shouldn't be an issue. Obviously there may be an affect on the housing and council tax benefit. For savings alone, you would generally require £112.55 x 52 x 2.5 = 14,631.50 for a couple with no children however, your sponsor may have income that can be considered.Vlad83 wrote:Yes we have some savings, but not too much!
How much savings we must have?
About accommodation! She has social house.
A spouse visa is given for 2.5 years (to be renewed once again on route to settlement) thus the income support amount for a couple of £112.55 per week for 2.5 years is as above. Though, the sponsor may have income which can be taken into account.Vlad83 wrote:how did u work out this amount £112.55 x 52 x 2.5 = 14,631.50
I'm not telling you to claim income support. As you partner claims DLA(I assume) then you only have to show adequate maintenance and accommodation. That is income equal to income support. For a couple that is £112.55 NET per week. Therefore in savings for a 2.5 year visa that would be as above. However, your partner may have income that can be taken into consideration.Vlad83 wrote:I dont understand whether we can claim income support as a couple or we have to have an amount of 112.55 a week fot 2.5 years?
Thank u very much for your answers!
