Previous sponsor confirmation for absences

Hi

I'm currently on ICT Long term(entered UK in 2009).
I was outside UK for < 180 days (working in India office). If I switch to Tier 2 General do I need to show previous employer (sponsor) letter confirming the absenses when I apply for ILR ?

yes, you will need a letter from your employer confirming your absences. See p. 20:
