Part time earnings question -- How to account for Income Tax

Post by hsmp_distressed » Wed May 02, 2007 7:50 am

Hello Everyone,
I have a question on part time earnings about my wife. Before I begin I must state that we are from India where financial year is between April 1 current year to March 31 next year. My wife would like to file my HSMP in December and her salary is not going to cover the band I am applying for in earnings. To make up the shortfall, she is doing part time contract work. I went through the HSMP form and I see that it requires 4 pieces of evidence -- contract agreement, invoice, bank statements and income tax returns. Clearly the first 3 are easy to provide since everything is documented, but how about the 4th one? Should I hire a chartered accountant and go in for advance tax payments to satisfy the Home Office? Clearly we are in no mood or position to wait till May next year when I can file I.T. Returns.
Has anyone been in similar situation before? What have you all done in such cases? Any success stories? I am requesting everyone reading this to help us out. If anyone knows of some good agencies who have secured HSMP for such cases please do let me know.
