It's so nervewracking! As soon as I had posted the application this morning started to convince myself that I had missed out a vital piece of information (did passport manage to fall out of plastic wallet and down back of sofa without me realising?) Or perhaps the fact that I had filled in the form and not my husband would somehow go against us (he has messy handwriting).
Have just spent the last hour checking back through what evidence people have submitted and I'm sure we are fine (have spent last two years planning for this after all). Would just appreciate any thoughts on our application....
Husband was granted visa on 11th May 2005, arrived in the country 26th May 2005, posted application today, 1st May 2007. Form was all filled in properly, photos attached, only lived at one address, no children, no criminal convictions, no terrorist sympathies, so hopefully should be straightforward application. Included:
- payslips covering last three months for each of us, and my bank statements for last three months (husband is a bit rubbish with his bank account and rarely uses it so didn't include his statements).
- both our passports
- his pass notification letter from 'Life in UK Test'.
- 20 items of correspondence/documents spread evenly over last 2 years, 10 each, from 9 different sources, only my car insurance and gym membership had both our names on. The rest were addressed individually. Wrote a covering letter to explain that all bills included in rent so no option to obtain in joint names and landline phone won't address to joint names.
Had always planned on applying in person but decided to save the extra £200 (£950!!) as husband and business partner are renovating a house which has turned into a money pit, this while their clients have ceased paying the bills..... what great timing.
Please let me know what you think.
Many Thanks.
