Spouse Visa

Post by chrissyc87 » Wed Jul 17, 2013 9:24 pm

Hi I have a query and was wondering if anyone can help me

I am currently living with my Malaysian partner - we married 2 weeks ago. I am in a job earning 17,500 and my partner has just finished his pre-reg pharmacist training which was paying 18,500 pa and we have payslips to prove this.

However, we are worried about applying for spouse visa because of my Malaysian partner's job situation, i.e. employment finished, and awaiting result. He has decided that he can locum or work as a relief pharmacist until he finds a full time application

Anyone know if the chances are that the spouse visa will be rejected because of my partner's temporary employment situation? I am also applying for jobs right now which pay over 18k so hopefully we can meet the financial requirement at some point. Please can someone advise

I'm assuming you're a uk national or settled here? Have you got savings? If not you'll need a job offer before returning for a spouse visa.

Hi

I have only 2,000 pounds in savings so we're stuck - other option is to negotiate a pay rise with my boss which is possible. If I did that, and he accepted and gave me a letter to state this pay rise, would we then meet the financial requirement?

And I'm a British Citizen, born and raised here.

Also - can we use our combined salary from previous 6 months (comes to around 32,000) as meeting financial requirement?
