Visa requirement for Indian citizens?

Post by godfather.rocks » Thu Jul 25, 2013 1:57 pm

Hello,

I am Indian citizen and in the UK on settlement visa (ILR). If so, do I need to apply for any visitor-visa for travel to Dublin, Ireland? Or not required?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Thanks.

Also that, any idea if the visa-fee is waived in accordance of the Visa Waiver programme? http://www.embassyofireland.co.uk/uploa ... 202012.pdf

I think, it does - but really not sure as it doesn't mention 'Indefinite Leave to Remain' visa explicitly...?

My understanding is also that the fee should be waived, but I don't think it has been confirmed by anyone on this forum. Can you post here to confirm after you have applied so that people have a definite answer in the future?

You dont expect people to know about this. Users here dont work for immgration.

If you really want to find out here is a smart move, write the Irish Embassy in the UK and they'll be very happy to assist you with any of your queries.

yes you need a Visa as an Indian National resident of UK. You can apply in person or through post with the necessary documents mentioned in the website but dont have to pay any fees . I have family in the UK who are residents and who visit Ireland using the Visa Waiver Scheme .
Hope that helps.

From your posts, it can be implied that you are the family member of a UK citizen. Is this the case? If so, and if you travel together, any visa would be issued free under the terms of directive 2004/38/ec.
