Processing time for Tier 2 Licence Renewal?

Can someone please tell me the time it takes nowadays to renew a tier 2 licence? My employer is unable to give me a certificate of sponsorship until their licence is renewed, but they said that my details are on the UKBA's website. They applied for a renewal on 15th June :S

Your employer is mistaken, as long as the licence renewal was submitted they can operate as normal - it doesn't stop them from issuing a certificate.

It their allocation expired (which it does every 12 months) then this would stop them - but these renewals are normally processed within a few days.

Don't know, I asked them this and they said that they are going through a renewal process and will let me know as soon as the system generates a CoS number. Their name is on the tier 2 sponsors register online and they started renewing their licence on 15th June 2013. I am worried what if they cant issue me a CoS by 1st september when my visa will end? What should I do then? :S

i am suspeting they have asked for this year allocation and are now waiting for that.. they ususally send an email in feb to ask how many cos u need to for next year which commmences from april..
they would prolly not have replied to that, and hence dont have an allocation.
I would think it can take between 2 -4 weeks for the renewed allocation.
