Provisional UK Photocard Driving License

Post by MyHSMPApplication » Mon May 14, 2007 8:28 am

Hi
Is is possible to apply for HSMP with Provisional UK Driving License with Photo card?.
I know the HSMP guidelines specify that we require a Full driving license, however, since, in UK the provisional is issued only after verifying the passport/ travel document, I have this doubt.

Do reply

Never heard of that, that provisional is issued only after verifying the passport.. I think you better check your facts.
But don't tempt rejection with giving the HO other than what it asked which is a full license

Hi
Thanks for replying
Yes. The DVLA expects the applicant to send the original passport / travel document issued by the Home Office.
I had to send my passport along with my Driving License application. I got back my passport after couple of weeks.
Also the provisional driving license issued in the UK has a my DOB printed in it.
Though it is very clear that the HSMP team expects a full driving license, I am just tempted to ask this question as I am struggling to get my Birthcertificate from India. Also My Indian Driving license issued in West Bengal does not have my date of birth in it.

Sorry I didn't have to do that which is why I find what you say funny.
IN any case, I wouldn't send my passport to DVLA. Some other guy lost his passport by doing this I would go to DVLA in person

Well
You can check this link

The only valid document I had was my current passport.

Thats a different story
You made it sound like they would only take your passport
Not that that is all you have to offer
