Australian looking for German work

Post by MrAustralianGuy » Wed May 16, 2007 7:46 am

G'day guys, I've just been hunting around the net trying to find some information on how I can go about gaining employment in Germany and I'm finding some of what I need, but not the rest.

Basically.. I've found out how I go about applying for the work visa, the process I go through, costs, etc. That's great :) What I wouldn't mind is some assistance with actually looking for the work! I'm a Software Engineer working in a field that apparently has a large shortage of employees and so I feel that I should be able to get over there and get a job so I can experience my life dream. However, as much as I love the German language I've never picked it up properly and so don't read it very well at all.

My hope for assistance is such: How would an English-speaking only guy like me go about looking for employment in Germany? Who could I speak to for further assistance (perhaps the German embassy in Sydney?) and has any other Aussies/similar done this recently and could give some advice?

Cheers in advance guys! :)

Read my previous posts on German Work Permits, you're in for a rough ride!

Also I think ur gonna need German language, if only to deal with the endless and slow bureaucracy....
