Hi, a very good friend of mine who has been in the UK from last September to a week ago with her husband and son (he is finishing a Masters degree in Nottingham) is having problems in Jakarta.
She went back there for a months holiday and hoped to be able to get a study visa by the time her course starts (early September) but despite having a large sum of money in her Indonesian account, cannot use it as proof of funds because it has been inactive for a year!
This is down to her having been in the UK.
The company VFS Global, who have been outsourced to handle UKBA visa applications is insisting there must be 28 days current activity BEFORE any application can be made.
I have been told by 2 people working for visa agencies that this is definitely not the case. They advise her to return to the UK on the remainder of her associate visa (expires Jan 14) and apply from here.
Does anyone here know if she can safely do this with any confidence?
Many thanks!
