Method of application: NCS (Haringey) 12th Aug'13
Date of receipt by UKBA: 13th Aug'13

Hi All,

We are due to travel in Oct'13 to our home country and till last week, we were not sure whether we would receive the registration certificate in time, but the trick is we sent an email on 11th Sep to HO and within two days the decision was made. So anyone travelling soon might give it a try this way, might be they have processed this in a normal way, but we have seen some of the applications sent before us which haven't been decided yet.

Good Luck,
Sonu

MN1 section 3(1) born outside of UK.

After initial refusal the Reconsideration application was sent in middle of June.

Approval letter: 22-Aug (dated 20-Aug) <- they used the SpecialDelivery envelope I included.

Hello All,

My child was born in July 2013 in the UK and my wife has just been granted ILR in September 2013 and she wants to apply for BC for the baby asap using form MN1 under section 1(3).

I need some help in filling question 1.9 on Form MN 1, which asks about the 'Present Nationality' of the child.

At the moment the baby doesn't have any passport for any country. Does this mean that the baby is 'stateless'?

Or can we put in my nationality for the baby? I'm Nigerian and my wife is Cameroonian.
Your quick response to this will be highly appreciated.

I was in a similar situation as well because my wife is South africa and am a Nigerian. Because you are married, you can fill in Nigerian but normally the Baby takes mother's nationality if unmarried.
Hope this help. Any question feel free to ask.
God luck.
N.B.If in doubt double check the Registrar in National Checking Service in your area.

Hello ILRPEO,
i am surprised because it looks very simple application as Home office do not need to search out anything like criminal offence, time spend out of the UK or other things, i do not know why they are taking so much time on these straight forward application :(
Anyway best of luck for all of us waiting for positive reply,
Thanks

I think there is shortage of staff for individual category of applications and moreover some of the applications in different categories have been untouched since last couple of months.

I think they should have appropriate levels of staff when charging such amount of fees. Nevertheless, the guidance says that applications will be decided in accordance and will take up to 6 months...the timeline which we have to wait unfortunately, I am afraid.
