Tier 2 (ICT) second extension + biometric query

Post by niralsoni » Fri Aug 23, 2013 1:04 pm

Background:
I came to UK on Tier 2 (ICT) multi-entry visa and got first extension. Now, my company will be initiating second extension in two months time. Below are detail of my visa -

1) 23-Dec-2010 Initial Tier 2 (ICT) multi entry visa valid till 22-Jan-2012
2) 1st Extension Tier 2 (ICT) valid till 06-Jan-2014
3) My current CoS is ending on 23-Dec-2013.

I am with same company, and same role so far, and will be continuing with them in future.

Questions:
1) Because of my marriage, I have to go back to India in December-2013. Should I go for second extension ?

2) Would I be eligible to bring back my wife along or need to wait till my extension finishes off ?

3) Do I need to go for Biometric again ? Or they will provide me with a replacement BRP card ?

4) Can I stay in India with my family untill my extension completes and that I get my new BRP card ?

Awaiting for your expert advise.

Regards,
Niral Soni

Options:
1. Apply for extension in good time so that your leave to remain (extension) application is approved and you get back your documents (passport) before you travel for your wedding. After the wedding, apply for entry clearance for your wife as a PBS dependant. Both of your return to UK.

2. Travel for your wedding and return to UK before 06-Jan-14 in good time so that you can apply for extension on/before 06-Jan-14. Once your extension is approved, your wife applies for her entry clearance as a PBS dependant and travels to UK when approved.

3. Travel for your wedding. Apply for entry clearance for your wife immediately thereafter. Is she is granted leave (if granted, her leave will also expire on 06-Jan-14), both of you travel to UK before 06-Jan-14 in good time so as to enable you both to apply for extension before that date.

No. 3 is risky, and the most expensive option.
