Friends it seems like NCS is waste of money in terms of time taken for processing the application. The only benefit being that you get to keep your passport and other supporting original documents.

Postal applications are getting results faster and quicker.[/quote]

ncs is a huge advantage to some people and they pick up on some silly errors it hasnt been too bad although u camt really say which one os quicker it's a matter of convenience & choice

It is an advantage to plenty of people and they do pick up on silly errors.
Even I opted for NCS, as I wanted to keep hold of the documents.

Again it is matter of choice as you say. But I can definitely express my views after reading the posts of some people on this very forum that when they received their confirmation letters. Most of them opted for NCS and it has taken longer, don't know the reason behind it, but that's what I observed and the opinion that I gave is my view. I am in no way imposing it on anyone.

And at the same time you gave your view and I respect that.

Simon.sandhu its bit weird you applied 17th June and HO took their fees a month later on 18th July. Doesn't really make sense.

Eligibility criteria: 5 years + 1 year on ILR
Method of application: NCS

Date of debit of fees: TBC
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: TBC

Since no payment was taken, spoke with the bank who said payment was declined on 27th August as incorrect security code was entered. I have not yet received a letter from UKBA until now. NCS said wait for the letter regarding payment or else send an email to them.

Could anyone suggest what email ID should I use? Is it nationalityprogress@ukba.homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk or ukbanationalityenquiries@ukba.gsi.gov.uk

Many thanks

hi Praveena1

Send email to nationalityprogress@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk , As far as I know you should get an acknowledgment letter and it will state payment was declined and you need to re submit payment details.

Friends,

For the applicants who are waiting, if you do call the HO on 08706067766, sometimes you might not get a complete information.

I understand the anticipation, I would suggest calling after 5 days and asking again. Make sure you talk to someone different from the previous time.

And emailing to the HO also helps.

My experience this afternoon was fairly abrupt and little information was given compared to the first time I called where the staff was far more helpful.

Hope this helps.

I had same problem and bank said security was entered incorrectly and I know I wrote correct one. Someone sill on HO made mistake. You will get letter very soon and fill details and send again. You will not receive further acknowledgement once money is taken out which will e around 10-14 days after you send them again. Hope that helps.

Hi pareevina,
I would not be worry about it as seems like a typican error or in my opinion ukba trick to cause unnecessery stress and anxiety to applicant, similar thing happen to me when i did applied back in july and i have recived a letter saying that payment was decliend and i was told that i need need to make a urgent payment, i went to my bank and i was told by nank manager no one actlly has tried to debit any money at all from my bank account, at the same time i was pretty sure i did give the ukba perfectly right bank details, dont waste your time to email them or phone them as they never answer , just wait for ther letter, and i would sugest this time send the cheque so there is no excuss for them.

Hi. I asked my local MP office to contact HO a moth ago or so. We received their response that the case has been allocated to a case working unit but that decision hasn't been made yet. They also stated they received our applications on 10 July, which is incorrect (we received acknowledgement letter dated 19 June) and that, in order to be fair to all applicants(!!!) they are dealing with applications in turn! So I asked MP to go back to them and clarify the date mistake. Yet another one as they addressed me incorrectly on the acknowledgement letter thus triggering my request to MP's office to ask for explanation in the first place. They just can't get just a few facts right!! Not very encouraging. Will keep you posted. I'm also tempted to send them nasty email about them being fair myself as well...
