Unmarried Partner Visa to a HSMP Visa

Post by ozskipper » Fri May 25, 2007 7:14 pm

Hi

If I am currently in the UK on a Unmarried Partner Visa (other half is seconded to the UK but is not a UK citizen or permanent resident) can I change to a HSMP Visa (if it's approved) within the country or do I have to go back to Australia?

I know you can with WHMV and others, but not sure about mine?

Cheers

OY wish I had seen this before the other post
You don't have to change your visa status if its a secondment
Its a problem if your partner has left for good.
Is this your partner's intention

Not at this stage - but the visa my partner is on is limited and we will have to return to Australia in around 12 months time. We'd rather stay on in the UK for a few more years yet, so I'm thinking of applying for the HSMP and my partner will then change their visa status to being the unmarried partner :)
