EEA FP Application sent to Croydon

Post by agent2857 » Thu Sep 12, 2013 11:24 pm

Hi there!
Does anyone have experience applying for an EEA family permit and sending the documents directly to Croydon from the country they are applying.
How long did they take processing the application?

Just an update to answer my own question. DHL just delivered my passport at my doorstep. I have been granted the FP. It shows that it was issued on the 10th of September which means it just took about 7 working days. They returned our original marriage certificate and all the photos we sent. The documents that were returned are all intact as were sent. I'm very impressed with the UKBA in Croydon.

I am curious about this procedure. At least one other poster had talked about having to do this when using a mobile biometric clinic.

Where did you apply?

Right now I am in Tallinn, Estonia.
There's a mobile biometric clinic every alternate Friday. My wife got her job on the 17th of August and when I tried to apply the next available date was the 30th of August. I had no option but to book my appointment for that date. When I did my biomerics I thought they would ask me for my supporting documents but they just gave me an envelope addressed to UKBA, Croydon and told me to send my passport, online application and other supporting documents within 3 working days. They advised to use the safest and quickest method possible.
Since I had already paid 24 euros to have my documents returned to me I had to pay an extra 45 euros to send them via DHL.

I would be inclined to object to the fact that a nominally free visa manages to cost around 69 Eu. If you were to do this, complain to UKBA.

Free, every facility, on the basis of an accelerated procedure...
