I know the feeling, last time it was only an IKEA catalogue... boooo!!walidukdz wrote:My heart's beat goes up every time the post man drop something in the mailbox still waiting !!!
I think you need to attend your citizenship ceremony first (where they present you with a citizenship certificate) - once you have attended the ceremony and received your certificate you will officially be a British citizen! Once it is all official you can then apply for a British passport. (Am pretty sure that is how it works).bumblebee123 wrote:thanks so much! Any Idea when to apply for Passport?
What is the process? Can I make a passport appointment now itself or should I have to wait?
Kindly advise.
Thats a stupid believe anywaywalidukdz wrote:Guys friday the 13th was a lucky one for Both my wife and I .just got back home from work and found My Citizenship invitation dated 4 september 2013 . it states I am pleased to tell you that this application for British citizenship has been approved. Tp complete the process of becoming a British citizen, you will need to attend a citizenship ceremony to receive your certificate. In the ceremony you will take an Oath or Affirmation of allegiance to the Crown and a Pledge to loyalty to the United Kingdom. This is a formal Promise
Good luck for the one waiting

Very much relieved after agonizing wait for last 6 weeks. after staying here in UK for last 10 years and paying thousands in taxes and astronomical fees towards visas now i should say i am free from these painful clutches of visa processing and fees. a very diabolical experience with HO to say the least.apparently HO can't even afford to send approval via first class after charging nearly £2300.
anyways it is mentioned in the letter to call council and arrange oath.
all the very best to the rest.

Congrates a4aneel and fully agree with you. But unfortunately we are the one with our hands at a lower level. So whatever and when HO drops into it, we have to just accept that.

Thanks to everyone on this board -- it has been an invaluable resource over the past years as we have gone through this process! On Friday, my invitation from the county council arrived, and today the official home office letters came for both me and my wife, and my wife's invitation from the county council.etmeyer wrote:Eligibility criteria: (3 yrs work permit + 2 years Tier 2 + 1 yr ILR) and spouse (dependent with same details) joint application
