Appeal or fresh application - Family Visit Visa

Post by Ali_Sch » Mon May 28, 2007 11:24 am

Hi all,

Im living in UK having long term work permit. I have applied for family visit visa for my parents and a sister. My parents got their whereas my sister visa was refused.

I have only till end of this week to appeal. However a friend of mine sugguested that instead of appealing just lodge her application with additional support as it would be quicker than appeal.

Can any suggest which would be better option appeal or re-lodge another application, i also want them to be here by summer.

Your quick responses will be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Everything depends on the reasons of refusal. If you can remove these reasons i mean provide some more requiest documents so you would better to re-lodge fresh application. So if you dont that you should appeal but you know the appeal will take 6 months up to 1 year. Its long time.
Good luck

My brother-in-law was refused a visitors visa earlier this year. I spoke to someone in the visa section who advised me to address all the points on the refusal notice, which I did. It turned out that all they wanted was some more documentation, and his visa was granted. I'd try going down that route first if I were you.
