Additional paperwork for common-law spouse

Post by rob_guardian » Wed Sep 18, 2013 2:19 pm

My common-law partner (9+ years) will be studying in Vancouver from April next year. I plan to join her, using our common-law status to gain an open work permit.

She is currently completing her visa application for a study permit. On it, she names me as common-law partner, and I had to fill in certain bits of info about myself.

My question: do I need to fill in a completely separate application myself? Or will hers suffice for both os us?

(And yes, I've already been to http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/un ... x?lang=eng - not a lot of help)

Thanks folks!

This may be helpful.

Though can't say if you need to fill in separate form to actually go to Canada. E-mail embassy and ask.
