Hello, guys
new here on the forum, had a look around and couldn't find anything similar to my case, so here it is:
- i'm a Romanian that came to UK in 2006 with an au-pair visa
- in 2007 got my blue card(registration certificate)
- worked since 2007 as an employee on the basis of no restrictions given by the blue card
- have got P60's and payslips for 6 years(September this year just had 6 years of employment)
- because of various reasons, i didn't apply last year for my permanent residence
My question now: according to UKBA, EEA members acquire automatically the residence after 5 years and it's not compulsory to apply for it, like those for ILR.
Do you think that i can now apply for citizenship on the basis that i've exercised the EEA treaty rights for 6 years? Also i will take the life in the uk test.
I have quite a large folder of bills, paperwork to prove my residence and employment for the last 6 years, like i said before.
Any opinions on this one?
Thank you
