where do you book flights for visa?

I realise not all travel agents are happy to make bookings without payments (eg STA or flight centre) and most probably would not want to hold your bookings for more than 1 days.

so which travel agents do you go that are quite happy to let you book flights without some sort of payments?

You can buy a fully refundable ticket online with eurostar and most Stupid. Although relatively expensive, you can cancel the ticket anytime and then book the inflexible but cheaper fare you need after you've got the visa. For all the years I'd been going to Schengen countries I only ever got French visas mostly using the above method and the final time I didn't even bother doing the usual day trip to Calais. Latter advisable only if you're on the verge of BC!

Hi
thanks. Do you get charged a fee when you make a cancellation?
But what's a BC

BC must mean British citizen or British citizenship.

It never cost me anything. Eurostar definitely don't charge, but if you go through a middle man like Expedia or opodo you'll most likely be charged something like £5.

Yep - they email them to you straightaway so you can print that off too.
