Contract Letter

Post by Sonye » Sat Sep 28, 2013 5:18 pm

I am in discussion with a prospective client for a possible business, i will have to request a contract letter. But the job is meant to begin a week after i submit my application. will this be acceptable by HO? can someone please help me with what information the HO would like to see on the contract letter, or please send me a draft copy of a contract letter so i can send off to my client.
I'll really appreciate your help.

thanks

I'm sorry. What I mean is that I need to get a contract from my client. I need a template or the information that home office requests that should be on the contract letter.
The contract start date is the 7th October but I am submitting my application a week before. Can I still show that contract as a proof of business even as the date is a week after I submit. I'd appreciate if I could get a template of a contract letter.

I hope I explained myself better. Thanks

@ sonye, you can submit contract that start anytime after your submission date, the most important thing is to make sure all the necessary info are on the contract. Standard contract don't necessarily start at sign date. That is why you will indicate start date, duration, payment e.t.c on the contract itself.

@ Sonye, you can get contract template on the internet and amend it to your requirement. There is no specific contract letter as there are loads of templates on the internet for free.

providing a contract will save you from being refused.

can you let me know the nature of the services your company or you provide I can then suggest you on the service commencement date for your contract.

thank you for your response.
I am applying as a team, our business is a management consulting business. I am a project manager and my business partner stands as the business analyst.

@olasukanmi, what else do i have to indicate on the contract? do i need to have the name of the business owner?

@ sonye, the contract template will guide you on all the necessary info you should include, but your business name, the clients business name, phone numbers, emails and addresses must also be included.

You and your team member must also sign the contract and the person signing on behalf of your client should have their full name and designation clearly stated on the contract. Its always best to have 2 people sign from your clients office as most standard contract always have 2 signatories from both parties, one serving as witness.
