*** Im recently married and pregnant - HELP!**

Hello to you all. Just came across this site and thought someone may be able to offer me some useful advice.

I recently got married in Bangladesh (April 2007). Prior to this I was working FT employed as a teacher. My contract came to an end in April.

Anyway. I got back last month and to my surprise discovered that I am pregnant. Now dont get me wrong my husband and I are delighted with this news but also wondering what the heck are we going to do with regards to the settlement VISA. Aaaargh!

I am currently working on an adhoc basis with a supply agency but as the school term is coming to and end i am working less than 16 hours and Ive also just recently made a request for JSA - as you can appreciate working less than 16 hours is NOT enought to support one person let alone two.

My question is do we go ahead and make the application or not? Im really concered that I will be unable to show any substantial income coming in until at least the end of Sept (when the demand peaks again).

Im pretty show i can aprove our relationship is genuine and I wll be moving into a 4 bed house with my sister in August so i know i ill be able to satisfy these two things.

My father has very kindly donated a large amount of money for me - could I use this as back up?? Because of he pregnancy.

Also, I am in the process of looking for a suitable job for my husband. He is qualified up to an MBA so im sure this will not be a problem.

I would be v grateful if anyone else has been in a similar situation or could offer any advice. My head's spinning as I dont knwo what to do!

Maybe people don't feel qualified to. We're mostly not experts, just folks who've been through the immigration mill and can advise on specific bits.

I know what I wander off what I know I get it wrong, frequently.

So I would say no-one here has been in ur situation so doesn't feel they want to jump in. You know it almost feels like ur annoyed at us......

I've contacted 3 agencies to seek advice (and not yet had a response) when I stumbled across this great site so thought id give it a go.

mrs_h, i think there hasnt been many reponses as I dont think there is anyone that can offer a solution to you. Since to apply for your husband to come here you would need to show that you can support him without him having recourse to public funds, in your case i think it will be difficult to prove that you have adequate finances to go be able to support him let alone yourself. I would suggest waiting till you get better employment so you have a better income, but i understand your need to have your husband with you thorugh the pregnancy. Maybe you can apply and ask for consideration of your circumstances, I am not sure about this though maybe some one else can help but i think you would need a solicitor, would it not be possible for you to return to bangladesh for the pregnancy and sort this out later?

Ive actually secured a new full time post (its not teaching) but it pays well and its a start.

I think judging by some of the threads that I have read on here, Id need to show a minimum (?) of 3 months wage slips and bank statements so I wont be applying until late September at the earliest.

Im not sure if an ECO would make allowances for people in cicumstances like myself but ive got my fingers and toes and everything crossed!

And yes I am planning on going over again probably at the time of application.

I know that they like to see 3 months wage slips, but I don't think that is a hard requirement. If you send your contract, that may be enough evidence given your circumstances. The processing will certainly take a while, and by that time you may have 1 or 2 pay slips to prove that you are actually making good money.

And try to find somebody close who can help you with the process. All the details can be very daunting, and it is a lot easier if you are not alone. A solicitor may be helpful, but a good friend is just as fine.
