Switching from Tier 2 to Spouse Visa

Post by TWebbNZ » Wed Oct 02, 2013 4:16 pm

Hi Everyone,

Firstly, I'm sure this has been covered numerous times in here but I just want to post myself to be certain!

I'm currently in the UK on a tier 2 visa, provided by the company I work for. I'm getting married this November, my fiancee being a British resident. I'd be applying for the spouse visa, form FLR(M).

I would be doing this myself. Can anyone please give me any adivce as to how difficult it is? I've looked thru the form myself and it seems ok, guess I'm just after some reasuurance. I've contacted a few layers who have quoted me up to £1200 + VAT on top of the UKBA fees which just seems too high.

If anyone can give me their experience or advice it would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Tim

The overwhelming majority of immigration application are made by individuals themselves without professional assistance. I can't get inside your brain to see if you understand the process but I think it's likely that you would. If 1200 is no great amount to you personally, you should spend that on a lawyer and have piece of mind, otherwise apply for yourself and ask any questions on this forum.
