HSMP vs business visitor visa

Hi,

My HSMP application was approved a couple of months ago. I originally planned to apply for EC sometime in August as I had unfinished business at home.
I've been to the UK a number of times over the last two years as a business visitor. That visa has recently expired. There is however a good business-related reason for me to visit the UK in June/July. I wonder if it is practical to apply for a business visitor visa now explaining HSMP situation, and later on apply for HSMP EC.

I would appreciate all comments and suggestions.
