Registration with GP

Can you please advise if a person comes to teh UK with a visitors visa can register with a GP.

If registatration with GP has been done doe sthat compromise subsequent visa/ resisdency/ ss route, etc applications.

Can you please confirm that my understanding is correct that registration alone with a GP is not illegal or compromising any future situation. However if there is defaulting on commitments I.e where payment is due exceeding £1000 then that has potential of being an issue to.

If you are a visitor to the UK or have temporary permission to live here (known as 'limited leave to remain'), you may be able to register with a GP in your area and receive free treatment. The GP can decide whether or not to register you. You may not be able to receive the full range of hospital treatment, because you must be a permanent resident or have lived here for a year to qualify for it. This applies even if you are a British citizen or have lived or worked here in the past.
