Spouse visa for HSMP

Post by ubugger » Wed Jun 06, 2007 12:18 pm

Hey all,

I am applying for HSMP and noticed that married spouses can be added quite easily...
Does that mean my spouse will have the same rights as me? Like can work where she wants, etc?
As far as I can tell all i need to do is show a marriage certificate on the EC/visa application and that's it, so long as I am approved for HSMP :)

I am in Australia so not sure if the rules are different here?
Basically when I apply for EC I can put her on my EC and then she essentially gets HSMP as well????

Thanks

Aaron

If you successfully get the HSMP visa, your wife doesnt get the HSMP visa but rather the HSMP dependant visa which will let her work anywhere as she pleases as long as she is eligible for it.

Is she added as your dependant on your EC or given a seperate endorsement in her passport when you apply together? I will let someone else with practical knowledge get to that.

Sweet, that's what I wanted to know - I believe she will get her own approval in her passport... As I understand it.

I know if we are not married, they need us to prove we have been together for 2 years, but if we are married we just need to show we are married.... Sounds good!

Cheers
