Going to Univ. of Oxford for Research from US

Post by nerd21 » Mon Oct 21, 2013 12:51 am

Hi,
I have been invited by a prof. of Univ. of Oxford for doing research for 3 months with him. Currently, I am doing my PhD in US. I am planning to apply as a Student Visitor but as I went through the requirements of Student Visitor VISA, I came across some rules, which are quite confusing.
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... uirements/

Rule:
You must show that, during your visit, you do not intend to:
-take paid or unpaid employment, produce goods or provide services, including the selling of goods or services directly to members of the public;

-you have enough money to support and accommodate yourself without working or help from public funds, or you and any dependants will be supported and accommodated by relatives or friends;

Questions:
-Can you please explain if it includes the payment I will receive for my research? :(
-Or is there some other VISA program for such students.
Regards.
