It's a B1 level requirement from Monday in addition to the LIUK test, so the LIUK test/ESOL should have been submitted anyway.

They are getting very confused as the old applications will be accepted for 21 days following 28-Oct-2013 anyway.

You are right. Moreover, they do not accept post on a Saturday to my knowledge anyway.

You'll find there are lots of staff out there who have no idea whatsoever. They just say anything to get people off the phone. Moreover, the date of application for immigration applications is the date of post not when the UKBA receive it. So you application date was yesterday, so they need to train/re-train a lot of their staff.

Case worker assigned to case and money taken out of the bank, so looking good to go, says up to 6 months processing time though, so just have to wait now.

Only one problem, my wife went for biometric processing some time in 2010, on the form it asked for details and inclusion of residence permit, we looked high and low in the house for it and could not find it so reported it missing, they replied she did not get the card and was an addition in her passport. This was after we sent form set(m), we did not sign the consent part for biometric application as I presumed she already had it. I really hope this does not cause a problem with the application.

Update

Post by jsnetman » Tue Nov 12, 2013 11:44 am

Got a letter this morning asking us to go for Biometrics within 15 days, I'm taking this as a good sign, although they would probably do the same if she was getting shunted onto another discretionary leave I suppose, any thoughts out there?

She already went for biometrics in 2010 when applying for further leave to remain.

Just standard, hopefully within 4 weeks of biometrics you'll get a decision.

I came in 2009 on spouse visa (I think 27 months) and could not passed Life in the UK test my spouse visa was expiring on July 2011and had no time to take Esole course . I applied for An extension granted 3 years visa which is going to be end on 6july 2014
Why 3 years? What sort of extension did you apply for? What sort of leave were you granted?

If it was discretionary leave, then they may expect you to renew this for another 3 years before being eligible for ILR.
Hi, how do you apply to renew a discretionary leave (even though we applied for FLR(O) originally)? Thanks for your help in advance.

If you have never held souse leave and just need to extend discretionary leave then it is FLR(O). This is changing to FLR(FP) soon.

I did and in total have read the posts about 5 times now and I still unsure as to what to do.

The situation is follows.
Wife applied for flr(o) but was granted DL.
That was over 2 years ago, and it's going to expire in July 2014.

Now I've just gain BC and red passport issues to me so I'm wondering how to proceed for my Mrs.

Now
1. There is a new DL form but I'm not sure this is the right option anyway.
2. Then there is the flr(o) route which looks like a major pain in the backside judging from post I've seen on this board and people's experience.
3. Finally there is the set(m) route which will be preferred as it cuts out all the pain of flr(o) or flr(pf) and 3 years delay, only to still have to gain LIUK test or KOLL, and allow her to naturalise arter ILR is granted. Currently encouraging my Mrs to gain LIUK and KOLL by January ending (aggressive target I know)

So as I initially stated, I have read the entire post and I'm still confused so some useful advise please. Anyone! Hanks in advance, God bless and a Merry Christmas to you.
