Bringing dependents on Tier 2 ICT for few months

Post by vivek_here » Fri Nov 01, 2013 8:15 pm

Hi All,

I reached UK on 15 Oct, 2013 on Tier 2 ICT short term. I will be staying here till April 2014. I plan to bring my dependents here from India.
I would like to know on which visa category do I need to bring my dependents?
Since I have just reached UK, I cannot show 3 months of bank statement which is required for dependent visa. I cannot even wait for 3 months because by that I would already be planning to leave back and it would be too late.
I would like to know if I can bring my dependents on General Tourist visa for 2-3 months here and if so what all are the documents required?

Please let me know on visa category on which I need to apply for my dependents.

Thank you
Vivek

your sponsor can give a written undertaking to maintain your dependants for one month in wich case you don't have to show funds for maintenance.

Also note that maintenance funds don't have to be held in the UK.

Thanks Manci for the reply but bringing my dependent for just 1-2 months in dependent visa is quite costly and I would require lots of documentations as well. Can't I apply for general visiting visa as the duration of stay is too less?

The documentation for the PBS dependant visa is straightforward.

For a visitor visa much more, and more complex, documentation would be needed to demonstrate your dependants' ties to India and to try to show to the ECO the likelihood that they will be returning home after their visit to the UK
